Quote: Yeah way!
Kristy in 1997:
Kristy thinks July in Texas is just too darn hot. She is currently a student at the University of North Texas studying Secondary Education, and raising two children, Adam, eight, and Austin, just under a year old, with her husband David. She and David bought a house in the Lone Star State, and have taken the kids on a tour of the Southwest. Kristy enjoys listening to Jimmy Buffet and reading, which earned her a college award for Excellence in American Literature.
Favorite memory: Sneaking away at lunch in the "bat mobile"
Kristy in 2007:
I have been teaching English for four years here in Texas, north of Dallas. In fact, I am department chair and event coordinator (I plan field trips).
I am married (18 years) and have two children and two very cute pets. The children are cute too!
My husband, David, is a senior development manager for Fidelity Investments. The next time you receive updates on your retirement portfolio, you can thank a developer. We are building a home and are planning to close at the end of this month. We are very excited about having more space and land.
My oldest child will be a senior in high school this year. It is ironic that his graduating class will be 2007, the same year as our reunion. However, I won't be able to make it, most likely, because school begins in August here in Texas, and I have lots to do to see my first born off to college for the first time. I would love to see everyone, though; this is a bit disappointing.
My youngest son, Austin, aspires to be an actor and live in NYC, attending college and waiting tables, typical of NY actors. He is quite the character at age ten.
We have two lovely Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Captain Jack and Princess Cassandra of Troy. Keeping their coats silky and knot free is a full time job in itself.
I am involved in several book clubs and would highly recommend "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini!! This is the best book I have read in the past five years!
I practice Yoga on Tuesdays and love it! If you have lower back pain, Yoga is for you!
When in Texas, stop by for a visit! Not many of you Yankees venture this far south.
It is sunny and warm, to say the least. We normally have between zero and one snow day per year. Can you top that?
UPDATE * UPDATE*UPDATE New from Kristy: I am doing well. We are relocating to North Carolina this summer. My oldest will stay in Texas to attend Texas A&M this fall. He will major in Aerospace Engineering and will be roughly 2 hours from NASA. My youngest will start middle school. He plays soccer, baseball, and the drums and keeps us very busy. My husband works for Fidelity Investments, where they will be building a new complex in the Research Triangle area in North Carolina. I teach middle school English and will start my graduate studies in North Carolina.
